How did the CAlabash Luxury boutique hotel come about?
Our family bought the Calabash in 1987 and have managed it since its inception. Today, the Calabash has evolved into a world class luxury resort.
Having only 30 suites and 5 Estate Homes means that we are able to get to know our guests by name rather than by room number and build friendships that last long after guests leave.
Family is one of life's greatest treasures and this is a philosophy that the whole Calabash family passionately believes in. The team here are one large extended family and when you arrive, you'll immediately feel part of it.

what does a perfect day look like at the calabash?
Our days start with a ‘breakfast like no other’. There's something immensely pleasurable about enjoying an al fresco breakfast in the Caribbean, served à la carte as you look onto an immaculately kept white sand beach with a brilliant blue sky overhead. Enjoy our “Unique Breakfast” beachside daily with your feet in the sand, or in the privacy of your suite’s private balcony. The choice is yours to make.
Lazy days are spent on the beach, eating fresh fish and sipping rum punch at The Beach Club at Calabash. Or you can enjoy the many activities on offer, from touring the beautiful gardens to scuba diving at the onsite dive and watersports centre or playing tennis.
And if that all sounds too much, you can relax and indulge at The Spa at Calabash, which specialises in natural products and treatments.
Evenings are spent in Calabash's signature restaurant Rhodes, which serves fabulous food in an informal yet stunning setting. A testament to the incredible cuisine on offer, Calabash is part of the exclusive, hand-picked Relais & Châteaux group.
Do you have a famous menu item we can share with our clients?
CALABASH SIGNATURE COCKTAIL-
Ingredients
1 inch fresh ginger
50ml freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
15ml honey
50ml dark rum
Method
Muddle ginger with honey in a cocktail shaker until ginger is fully crushed. Add the rum, grapefruit juice and ice then shake.
Strain and pour over a tumbler of crushed ice. Cheers!
Charity of choice to support?
We proudly support Grenada Schools, Inc. which provides primary schools in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique with functioning libraries, supplementary curricular material, and children’s books – illustrated and written by locals. The project will also provide nation wide assessment in reading for all early learners in Grenada. Their aim is to eliminate poverty through education.

There is so much to see and do at The Calabash - we had a hard time choosing!
If you are interested in water sports, you can kayak, charter a private boat, go sport fishing, or try your hand at sailing. Along the way - stop at the Underwater Sculpture Park, have a picnic (with champagne of course) on a private beach, or Scuba to the Diving Capital of the Eastern Caribbean.
If you are more of a land dweller, check out the National Park - Grand Etang (you know we have a weakness for national parks), take a dune buggy along the nature trails, or hike to the Seven Sisters Waterfall.
Culture Enthusiast? No problem! Visit and take home fresh spices from Laura’s Spice and Herb Garden, visit the market at St. George Square, or dash over to the Belmont Estate for a unique chocolate experience.
And if all this exploring is making you hungry, hunker down at Carib Sushi, BBs Crab Back, or The Aquarium for some quality nosh.
